What Homegrown Therapy Offers

The Process

1) Screenings

A speech and language screening is a quick, stress-free way to understand your child’s communication skills and determine if a full evaluation may be helpful.

2) Evaluations

Evaluations help us understand your child’s communication strengths and areas for growth through play, observation, and assessment.

3) Therapy

Therapy combines a personalized plan with engaging, individualized support to build your child’s communication skills and progress toward their unique goals.

Types of Evaluations

Language

A comprehensive language evaluation uses formal and informal assessments to understand your child’s receptive and expressive language, including how they understand and use words, sentences, and social communication. Results provide a clear picture of their strengths and challenges and are outlined in a detailed written report.

Feeding

Feeding evaluations assess how your child chews, swallows, and manages different foods and textures to better understand their feeding abilities. Results help identify strengths and challenges to support safer, more comfortable, and enjoyable mealtimes.

Speech

A comprehensive speech evaluation looks at how clearly your child produces sounds and how it impacts their intelligibility. This process includes formal scoring and a written report outlining the results. Evaluations are designed to identify your child’s unique strengths and challenges typically lasting 30-60 minutes.

AAC

AAC evaluations (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) explore tools and strategies, including communication devices, to support children who need extra help expressing themselves. Results help identify the best communication options to meet your child’s unique needs and build confidence and independence.
